Moving from 3000 miles away – John and Laura.
“We started talking to Par while selling our condo in DC. A new job brought us to SF. What we wanted; 3 bedroom single family house with a finished lower level, not a fixer, not hideous and close to transportation. Laura and I want to start a family plus I wanted my mother to eventually come live with us. We were staying with in-laws, so told her there is no rush.
This is what Par understood without us saying a word; while it’s great to have a temporary place to live, it’s nothing like having your own home and feeling settled. Commuting to SF from the Peninsula, while manageable would get tiring, and my new job needed 100% focus thus I didn’t have a lot of time for home buying.
To simplify things, Par took Laura along on her Tuesday Broker tour to get a sense of our style. She got the picture – called a few days later to say she’d phoned some colleagues, and found a house (not yet on the market) that had all of our criteria – sellers were coming on the market in spring but open to an offer now. Par made an appointment for us to see the house, but also made sure we saw plenty of other houses to make the right decision. As it turns out, what she found was our perfect house. This was one week before Thanksgiving. We talked over the details, and she advised us to avoid spring competition and not wait. When we said yes, she sprang into action on our offer, working with the sellers’ agent during the holiday weekend. On top of that, she made sure our lender gave us the best loan options while communicating clearly about the entire process. We had our house one month later.
Our friends ask how we got a house in 30 days in this stiff market, our answer is always – talk to Par.”
